Jury Duty Again!
Yes I had Jury Duty last year and here it is 17 months later and I have to go again. I have only known two people that have had jury duty up until last year and now everyone I know has been called once and so far this year the first two of us have been called again. If this goes the same as last year, Sandra is next in about two months and then everyone else.
So in honor of having to go to Jury Duty again, we are watching 12 Angry Men tonight. The funny thing about this movie is that it is the first and only picture produced by Henry Fonda, it made no money at the box office but it was nominated for an academy award.
Let's hope I don't get a case that lasts a week, they only pay $15/day here in Orange County!
Blogging is tough. If we did a good job, please spread the word!

No kidding! That was a close call.
Now that I can talk about it, the case was about some kid that was beatup in an apartment complex parking lot and the people that attacked him were not caught. So he's sueing the apartment complex for "over $1 million" dollars for not providing security.
I'll bet that even if they had the Army National Guard providing security the kid would still be sueing, except he would sue the security agency. He's one of those that won't take responsibility for his own actions and wants someone else to pay.
Is our system being abused? Yes it is. I think we need to have a looser pays system. If you sue someone and loose you pay your legal fees, you pay their legal fees and you pay for the court's time including a good wage to the jurors who have no choice in being there. If you win then the other guy picks up the expenses.
It sure would make you think twice about bringing up a frivolous law suit.
