We should be on this ship right now

We booked a cruise on Celebrity's newly refurbished Century back in November. We had a Sunset Verandah and we were so excited to get this rare room! We have been counting the days until we leave. Could January 13th get here any faster?

Fast forward to December 31st. We had an E shoot in the AM for our January 27th bride and a party that night. The year was coming to an end and I was looking foreward to 2007. And of course our cruise! We do the E shoot and my bride kept saying "2 weeks! I am freaking out!" and finally I said, "So are you heading to South Fla in 2 weeks?" and she looked at me funny. Guess what? Her date was moved from January 27th to January 13th and she forgot to tell me! I should have known - she was March 31 originally and I found out from another vendor that the date had been changed.

So what to do? We waited for 2 whole days. Celebrity was closed on Dec 31 and Jan 1. We didn't get insurance - but was it too late? Well, I researched the insurance and it turns out that even if we did have it, our excuse wasn't one of the reasons you could use to cancel.

I called Celebrity first thing on Tuesday January 2nd. Bad news, we lose half our money. Not good. Not good at all. But I just felt like we couldn't NOT shoot this wedding. So we cancelled. The somewhat good news is if we would have called on the 3rd we would have lost 100% since that was 10 days out.

Here is the ship we should be on right now. We would probably be at a show right now. Our having drinks at one of the bars. Or sitting on our balcony. Can you tell I am sad???

This was before the refurbishment - the ship added a lot of balconies. We will get on it someday.....

Weekend in Miami

Our wedding this past weekend was in Ft. Lauderdale. We decided to go down early. We have been to Miami a few times in the past year and we really wanted to try Azul, the restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental. Every time we try to get in (at the last minute) they are booked. So we called early and we were in! We went to the bar first and to my surprise, they had Lychee martinis! My old roomate in NYC, Shannon, introduced me to these when I was in the city a few months ago. I love them - but you can't find them anywhere. I've tried all over Orlando and no one even knows what I am talking about. Then we went to Dallas, and the W at Dallas had them no problem. I knew I loved Dallas! So the first thing I asked for was the Lychee martini when we arrived at the Mandarin. So three cities now carry this hard to find drink!

I made a little video of our trip. Check it out:

What happened in Cozumel?

We started our visit to Cozumel by having lunch at a local restaurant with 1 margarita each. (That was all, I promise!) Then we headed back toward Carlos 'n Charlie's and this was us BEFORE we went in.

I'd tell you more about what happened after but the video evidence isn't very good. ;o)

Cruise on Celebrity's Century

We went on a cruise six months ago and I never got around to making a slideshow of the images and video we have. I finally did it last night!

The cruise was on Celebrity's Century - an older ship that had been refurbished. It was a smaller ship, but it was still awesome. We originally booked a room with a balcony, but a bride changed her wedding date and forgot to tell us. So we ended up moving to the following cruise and got a "Sky Suite" which was heaven! The room was big for a cruise ship and the balcony was even bigger! I slept out on the balcony several nights and I took naps out there, too.
