English Slang

English Slang

March 11, 2011 ยท Chris

I've been listening to Absolute Radio '00 out of the UK recently and was confused by their traffic reports. Apparently there is always a broken down Lorry somewhere and I didn't know what a Lorry was. For all I knew there were these really bad drivers in London who were all named Lorry!

So I decided to look it up and after mis-spelling it a few times I came across this YouTube clip of Ellen and Hugh Laurie trading American and British slang which is pretty funny.

They don't cover what a Lorry is, which I later learned was a freight truck. My apologies to all of the drivers in the UK who are actually named Lorry, I honestly didn't think that your driving could be that bad.
