I get a daily email from a website/blog called The Daily Love. It is an inspirational web site and sometimes things grab me and I read more and other times nothing catches my attention. Today they posted an article by Laurie Gerber called "Why Your Dating Profile Doesn't Work" and I thought it was a very good read. And as a side note I was really excited to read that 5% of the marriages in the US are due to some form on online dating! That is awesome! It doesn't mention this in the article but it was in the initial email I got earlier today.
It applies to much more than dating websites - it also applies to Facebook and website biography pages. Our bio pages aren't up to date - we wrote those pages about three years ago and I know we need to update them to say our most up to date information such as favorite bands, movies, etc. I also had blonde and red hair (I changed it often) a few years ago and recently I have gone to my natural light brown. I don't want potential clients to walk in the door and realize I look nothing like my bio photos! It looks like we will be updating that part of the website right away!
