Huckleberry Honey

Huckleberry Honey

August 23, 2019 · Sandra

I haven’t seen any huckleberries for sale in Oregon.  I am thinking they really only grow in northern Idaho and Montana but I’m not sure.  I don't even know what they look like - I've been told they look like blueberries, but a little bit more purple. I'm a Florida girl at heart - I am not going to take a chance and eat a random berry on a bush if I don't know for sure what it is!

I saw this huckleberry honey at the grocery store and I decided to give it a try!  It is good alone and it is also really good in tea.  Then I decided to get some vanilla ice cream and that was the best way to enjoy the huckleberry honey!

When I looked closely at the label, I noticed this was made in Montana. It looks like we need to head to Montana for some fresh huckleberries!
