Ca' Rezzonico in Venice, Italy

Ca' Rezzonico in Venice, Italy

April 5, 2018 ยท Sandra

I love architecture and big beautiful ballrooms. So I knew I would want to see the Ca' Rezzonico museum while in Venice, Italy.

The museum is right on the Grand Canal:

The main ballroom was created by demolishing the upper floor to make one big room. It is IMPRESSIVE and you can read a lot of the details here (link no longer available).

The chandeliers were so amazing - made of wood with floral patterns in gilded metal.

There are many other rooms (which I would very much consider ballrooms because they are HUGE) but I didn't take a lot of photos. The art is all so beautiful, too. This painting by Ippolito Caffi was my favorite. Of course, the photo does not do it justice. You have to see the mix of light and dark in this painting in person!
