Bear Lake: The Caribbean of the Rockies

Bear Lake: The Caribbean of the Rockies

July 29, 2019 ยท Sandra

When someone told us there is a lake on the Utah/Idaho border that looks like the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, we knew we had to see it!

Apparently the turquoise color is due to the limestone deposits suspended in the lake.

I will tell you: that water is COLD! I tried to get in a few times and I could only get in up to my knees!

One thing the Bear Lake area is known for is raspberry shakes. So many little stands throughout the small town of Garden City have signs for their raspberry shakes. We decided to try the "least famous" Zipz raspberry shake. Oh my goodness it was amazing!

The water is SO clear!

Most of the beaches are dog friendly
