Around the holidays, I bought the LashStash Mascara Deluxe Sampler from Sephora.
One of the mascaras that I was anxious to try was the Tarte 4 Day Stay Lash Stain. In the hot Florida summer months waterproof mascara smears down my face at weddings. For a while I was using Revlon's ColorStaylash tint but it was discontinued. I then switched to Bobbi Brown's No Smudge mascara but like all other mascaras it just can't hold up in Florida's heat with my sweat glands!
I also have this little problem called "happy tears" and I tend to cry at nearly every wedding. So this past Saturday was going to be warm and the ceremony was in full sun. I put on the Tarte 4 Day Stay Lash Stain and it was just like the Revlon formula - very watery. I use an old washed mascara wand to comb through my lashes after I apply it. I then wiped the old wand with my hands before moving on to my other eye. In the few minutes the 4 Day Stay Lash Stain was on my hand, it dried all the way. And soap and water did NOT remove it! I had to really scrub my hands to get the mascara off! This was a good sign.
My mascara didn't budge the entire day - or night even after washing my face when I got home. I put the mascara on around 11am on Saturday. But 11pm on Sunday night - 36 hours later - the mascara was still on my lashes! By today it was starting to wear off the ends a little - so it doesn't quite last 4 days. But I do wash my face morning and night with a cleanser designed to remove waterproof mascara.
