I am sad to hear that Priscilla of Boston is closing its doors on December 31, 2011. I remember the first time I was in Boston and I looked up and saw the huge Priscilla of Boston store. And I was even more excited when I found out they were opening a Priscilla of Boston in our Dr. Phillips neighborhood.
I didn't even realize until today that Priscilla of Boston and David's Bridal were owned by the same parent company. In the news article I read it said they were going to focus on their core money maker - David's Bridal. Did you know that 25% of American brides wear a David's Bridal gown? That is a huge! I was just in David's Bridal the other day and it was a zoo - brides running around all over the place. I was having a hard time looking at the headpieces because so many other people were looking at them.
The good news is it looks like they will be fulfilling all of their orders. I would hate for any of my brides to be panicking that they might not have a dress they thought they had!
The sad thing is I never actually went inside the Orlando store! But I always liked to walk past the windows late at night and see what dresses they were featuring after we had dinner in the same shopping plaza.
