The apples here in Oyama, British Columbia are ripe and are being picked off the trees. It is fun to walk around the orchard with James and watch.
I was talking to these apple pickers and they were saying hello to James. The man took an apple and threw it for James to retrieve. James chased the apple, but when he realized it wasn't a ball, he was confused and started looking around. The man picked it up and threw it a few more times when FINALLY James realized he could play fetch with the apple! It was cute to watch.
The apple picker playing fetch with James told me that a lot of dogs will pick apples off the trees and eat them. And they will eat apples that have fallen to the ground or ones that have been dropped. Once the pickers drop an apple, they can't put it in their bag or into the bin. So I was picking up the good ones that were accidentally dropped to eat them.
I decided to hand James the apple after his fetch game was finished. I wasn't sure if he was going to eat it!
