I hate watching the news - it is usually all bad and gets me worked up. But this Virginia Tech story is just awful. I just started going to a new doctor and one of the questions on the form was to list the top 5 stress events in my lifetime. One of those was college. It wasn't the college itself that was stressful - it was the whole experience. Leaving home, not knowing anyone, having to grow up, going to classes that are so much harder than high school and navigating campus. It was really hard for me! I couldn't imagine having something this awful happen in the middle of that. I feel so much for the students.
One of my friends growing up went to school at Virginia Tech. I wonder where she is now? I hate that women change their names when they get married - it makes them so hard to find in Google! I'm glad I kept my name - so much easier!
