Priceline.com

Have you ever used Priceline.com? I have seen the commercials and I notice reviews on TripAdvisor.com sometimes mention booking through Priceline or Hotwire. So I found a board called Better Bidding and I read how to bid and what prices have been accepted and what hotels people got for that bid. I decided I would give it a try. We have an upcoming trip to DC and I love the look of the expensive hotels - just not the price! So I decided to bid $99 on a 4 star hotel and guess what? I got it! I then went to the hotel's website and typed in the exact same reservation. The price? $499 a night! The only thing is you don't know what hotel you are going to get - you just tell it what specific area you want and how many stars. But I didn't care what hotel - I just wanted a nice one for a nice price. Next time you are heading out of town, give it a try! I will post a review of the hotel and specifics when we get back - I don't like posting about the future on the blog since the internet has lurkers.
