Lake Powell

Lake Powell

February 9, 2009 ยท Chris

Our next stop was Lake Powell, a which is a man made lake that is over 500 feet deep at it's deepest. The lake was made by damming up the Colorado River and it created an awesome recreation area for everyone in the area.

We were told that there were "beaches" that we could pull up to and swim, but we were not given an anchor for the boat so we couldn't find a way to stop on the shore because it's not the type of beach we were used to in Florida, this beach was actually the edge of a sandstone cliff and without an anchor we didn't have a way to tie the boat up. So we just decided to cruise the lake and it was an incredible trip!
