Where have we been? Working like crazy! Our holiday portrait sessions seem to be starting early this year. Then every weekend we have a wedding. Saturday's wedding was over at 11pm and by the time we got home and backed up it was 1am! By the way - I got a new computer with TWO disc drives and I am completely spoiled. It is so easy to back up weddings now! These drives are also much faster.
On Sunday we had our big dog Halloween photo shoot. We had a ton of pumpkins and they are now in the front yard on display. I look forward to carving them with Chris on Friday!
My longtime favorite D2Hs had 2 hiccups in the past month - an odd purple shot at one wedding and a weird digital mix on one shot Sunday. Not enough to give up yet - but I know I need to replace it. We have the D300 and I don't really like it - the AF is very slow and it doesn't shoot an insane amount of FPS that I like. I think I have been spoiled by my D2H and D2Hs. I am going to replace it with the D3 and it is funny to hear all of the other photographers tell me - buy the D300 - it is the same thing. When you look at the stats page on DPreview, yet they do look like the same camera for 99% of the stats. But I had a fun hour reading threads on Sports Shooter on how the D3 smokes the D300. I just hope Nikon announces another camera soon - I want the price on the D3 to drop just a bit more! I never thought I would spend more than I did on my 5D one day!
