When we were in Lake Tahoe the girls had a spa morning at Squaw Valley. They had this magazine called Sunset with an ad for Safeway featuring Sushi candy. Here is the photo from the ad:
Look closely -the "rice" in the nigiri is a half of a powdered sugar doughnut! Then the seaweed to hold it together is a fruit roll up. The one to the left up front the "rice" in that maki is a marshmallow! Then behind that is compressed pound cake and the one in the back is a Twinkie!
I found a video on YouTube for Safeway showing how to make the nigiri as well as a candy cane vase and clove decorated oranges. Obviously this was the December issue of Sunet but it is still fun!
