Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella

Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella

September 5, 2018 · Sandra
Our Airbnb in Florence has a really nice book with recommendations on what to see, do and eat. One of the recommendations was for the 600 year old perfume shop in an old convent called Santa Maria Novella. I read it was hard to find. And as we were walking along Via della Scala, I didn't realize we were approaching it. I walked past a door and suddenly stopped - what was that wonderful smell?!?! And there it was... the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella! We walked around the inside with James and of course everyone that worked there came over to say Ciao to James. Did we mention James has a new name? Or at least he thinks he has a new name! James now responds to "Che Bello!" which sounds like K-Bello. It means "How Beautiful" in Italian. He also responds to Ciao! James LOVES the Italians and they really love him, too.
