We decided to take the ferry from sleepy Bainbridge Island, Washington to bustling downtown Seattle! The ferry ride is about 50 minutes and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (as well as room for cars and bikes). And the ferry is dog friendly! The ferry is free going to Seattle for pedestrians and you only have to buy a ticket when you return to Bainbridge Island.

Chris wasn't so sure about the crowds and I think the city was even a little loud for James - there were sirens and street clowns making balloon animals that kept popping. But I enjoyed the Pike Place Market - especially all of the beautiful flower arrangements!
