Just south of the dam for Lake Powell is the famous Horseshoe Bend. You may have seen this in photos but it is quite impressive in person.
We sat and watched the boats in the river for a while and it really put things into perspective to see them as the tiny white dots racing against the current. Definitely worth the half mile hike to the rim of the canyon.
