The rain eventually let up and we ran out to a completely vacated and freshly cleaned private beach. We let Duke and Goblin run free and had a great time racing along the beach.
We also took some fun photos, and I nearly lost my flip-flops because I kicked them off too close to where the waves were reaching on the sand.
We decided to see what other beaches were nearby and in less than 5 min. we hit the end of the island and found ourselves in line for the Hatteras Ferry. At least this would be a short wait because they run 3 ferries at a time and the trip is free.
